PhD Student in Computer Sciences · University of Wisconsin–Madison

An Nguyen

I study the hidden structure of neural networks and use it to understand and build LLMs that are scalable and reliable.

I am an incoming PhD student in Computer Sciences at UW–Madison, where I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Sharon Li. Before that, I had the privilege of working with amazing mentors, including Prof. Tan Nguyen and Prof. Thieu Vo. I received my B.S. from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, graduating as the valedictorian with a major in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

        Small systems, hidden rules

I like compact strategy games, strange little interfaces, and simulations where simple rules turn into hard decisions. There is a tiny dissertation-defense prototype tucked into this page if you want to try it.
